Indian Paintings : Vasudeo S Gaitendo, an Indian artist won Padma Shri Award in 1971 for his beautiful paintings. He completed his art diploma at Sir J. J. School of Art in 1948 and later on joined the Bombay Progessive Artists Group. His paintings are available in many distinctive museums and with private art collectors around the world. One of his beautiful paintings broke the record for being sold at 239 million rupees to a private collector. He is well known for his minimalist landscape paintings and he was the biggest inspiration and tutor to artist Nasreen Mohamedi. Vasudeo was a very simple and private person. He was born in 1924 at Maharashtra, India and deceased in 2001(New Delhi).
