15 Funny Clay Sculptures Featuring New Hybrid Creatures by Alessandro Gallo
Funny Clay sculptures featuring a new creature, hybrid of human and animal, are created by Italian artist Alessandro Gallo. Horned lizard, bearded dragon, goat and dog mask and many more which look more like a caricature. He first creates an armature from plumber's piping before hand building the clay figures. After the clay figures dry up he works in detail carving the desired structure and gives proper colour combinations using acrylic paints. Alessandro combines animalistic features along with cultural symbols like dress, so that the sculptures represent a common habitat we all share. The minute detailing of posture, clothing and facial expression gives life to these hybrid creatures. Recycled Industrial Waste designed as Renaissance Costume by Suzanne Jongmans
Dutch costume designer and sculptor Suzanne Jongmans has used non-recyclable industrial waste materials like polystyrene and bubble wrap to create beautiful costumes. The designs are inspired by styles of the 15th, 16th and 17th century which has elaborate bonnets and high collared dresses. The recycled costumes have references from paintings created by artists like Rembrandt, Holbein the younger, and Rogier Van Der in her photos. Suzanne creates a connectivity between the waste products and the artistic silk or lace and the result is a beautiful renaissance costume. He is a self-taught artist and his passion for painting has gained him more than 54+ years experience. According to his biography,"Maruthi started painting when he was seven years old and continued to do so without his parents' encouragement. However, the artist in him grew up along with him. His determination to make a mark for himself in the field of arts and prove to the world propelled him to come to Chennai when he was just 19. In his struggling years, Maruthi used to collect anything ranging from road side garbage to wall posters as reference material for his practice. He got a job in a poster designing firm and started his career painting film posters. Gradually, he went on to do freelancing for tamil magazines like Kumudam, Anada Vikatan".
