20 Creative and Awesome Paper Sculptures by Asya Kozina

Paper Sculptures: Born into a family of artists, Azya Kozina is an Ukranian artist who creates wedding gowns and wigs, made with intricate paper sculptures. She has a master's degree in Visual and Decorative-Applied Art Faculty from the Cherkassky National University. According to Azya Koaina's website, "Photos of intricate paper designs have recently been surfacing all over the web across the world. Asya Kozina from St. Petersburg, is the artist responsible for these timeless creations. She starts from standard Whatman sheets of paper, bought from an ordinary stationary shop. Her work with plain white paper has become the artist's signature mode of expression, and is the only material which she can experiment tirelessly with. Kozina believes that blank white paper allows for her to accent form while also concealing secondary details. All works are created by hand, and none of the shapes or forms are replicated in later pieces, making each one unique. Her last project, "Baroque paper wigs", took first place in number of viewings on the Behance social network site ". According to Azya Kozina,"Everything begins with a search for the material. I find and study many photographs, publications, and descriptions. When the material has been developed, sketches appear, and only then is the work itself created in the material. It takes a lot of time – about a month. I don't understand any other material as well. I take paper and it's a continuation of my hands. For the most part, it's art for art's sake, aesthetics for the sake of aesthetics, there is no practical point". Enjoy the beautiful paper sculptures by Azya Kozina and be amazed.
