Korean artist and photographer Chang Ki Chung creates portraits of fruits and vegetables like a mound of rough stones. His interest in cooking inspired the photographer in him to create unique shapes and vibrant colours of cooking materials found around him. Chung began his still life photography by clicking the small plants growing low on the grounds in the fields near his place. He showcases the internal shapes and patterns of the natural objects by slicing them into pieces and stacking them which highlights their beauty. Chung says that his first teacher was Edward Weston and then he got geometrical inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci. His culinary still life photos challenge gravity and create magic through lens in air. His latest series was commissioned by the French newspaper LeMonde which features a new still life each week. Here we share the collection of still life photos of Chung for you to enjoy.
